Office for Environmental Protection
We support the Office for Environmental Protection (OEP) with editorial and infographic design for statutory reports and high-scrutiny publications. We translate complex, research-led environmental content into clear, engaging communications for decision-makers, media and wider audiences—without losing technical accuracy.
The challenge
The OEP's statutory reports go before Parliament. Ministers respond to them on the record, the press reads them looking for a story, and scrutiny committees go through them line by line. The same document is read by scientists, ministers, journalists and the public — it has to work for all of them, with no room for ambiguity.
The evidence is dense, technical and multi-authored. Contributions come from scientists and policy specialists who each write differently, so findings can be repeated, terminology can drift, and a single voice is hard to achieve.
Our approach
Editorial first. Our Crystal Mark-accredited editorial lead reads across the multi-author drafts to find one coherent voice, making sure key messages land whether a reader has thirty minutes or three hours — and that a simplification never becomes a distortion.
Design then carries the argument for readers who won't read every page. The infographic suite is built from the source data and findings, and designed to travel — working on the page of a parliamentary report, in a ministerial briefing, at a stakeholder event, or on social channels.
What we produced
Editorial development across multi-author statutory reports, infographic suites built from source data, report design, and standalone assets for briefings, presentations and social channels.
What the work provides
Publications that say exactly the right thing, in exactly the right way, for every audience they have to reach — and assets that keep working after publication, in the rooms and channels where decisions are made.
