Research and insights

At Bounce, we are committed to ensuring that our work is based on true knowledge and insight.

The Bounce team of researchers, along with our network, have extensive experience in qualitative research and evaluation and have worked with clients to inform a range of projects.

Our researchers are experienced in all the traditional and modern methodologies you would expect: ethnographic, observations, multi-staged, workshops, focus groups of different sizes, co-creation and co-production, online, phones, pre-tasks, post-tasks, stay and play. The difference between us and other companies is that we are not wedded to using a certain approach, we love using different methodologies, mixing them when relevant and making each wave bespoke. And we’ll keep it simple.

At the heart of our digital projects is a robust, research-led approach grounded in user needs and operational realities. We follow industry best practices such as the GDS (Government Digital Service) Service Standard, ensuring our work aligns with expectations for accessibility, security, and performance. Our process begins with discovery and user research, applying agile and iterative delivery methods to ensure each product evolves with real-world feedback. We use tools like user journey mapping, personas, and prototyping to validate ideas early and often. Whether we’re working on internal systems or public-facing platforms, our goal is always the same: deliver high-impact, user-centred digital services that are scalable, secure, and compliant with the standards expected in public sector contracts.

Our researchers are strategic interpreters - relating to the people they talk to in empathic and insightful ways whatever their age or background, translating their feedback and deciphering how our clients can engage with them.

Our researchers have worked with clients across a range of organisations and sectors, including:
