London Underground wanted to replace a decades-old paper-based system for keeping track of employees’ certification and training records. The solution needed to work in underground stations and in tunnels.
Our approach
We designed, built, piloted and embedded a tablet app for station supervisors and managers, replacing paper records of employees’ certification and training with a system that works in stations and tunnels.
What changed
The tablet app was very well received. It saved an average of 47 minutes for each assessment and revolutionised how many of the day-to-day management processes were carried out.
The reduction in time not only saved millions of pounds — money that can now be used to improve services — but freed up vast amounts of managers’ time to look after customers.
